Investigators Looking for Mystery Woman Seen With Vegas Shooter

The quest by police to comprehend why a retiree shot 59 people to death in Las Vegas has turned to the gunman's girlfriend, who has flown back to the United States from the Philippines facing investigators' questions about what she knew of his motives.

Marilou Danley has been questioned by the Federal Bureau of Investigation after being met by investigators on her return to the USA from the Philippines.

As previously reported, Paddock, a 64-year-old retired accountant, opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival in Las Vegas on Sunday, October 1.

"We are continuing the investigation into that female", Sheriff Joseph Lombardo, chief of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, said on Monday.

She was born in the Philippines and is an Australian citizen.

In a statement read by her attorney she said she is devastated by the violence.

Marilou Danley's sisters were interviewed by Australia's Channel 7 TV network with their faces obscured and their names withheld. Their identities were concealed - their faces were obscured and their names withheld.

Gunman's girlfriend said she was unaware of the plan.

. She was sent away. In the statement, Danley insisted she knew nothing about Paddock planning a shooting, She said Paddock told her he found a cheap flight for her to the Philippines, and so she went to visit family and friends.

"In that sense I thank him for sparing my sister's life", they added. "No one can put the puzzles together". No one except Marilou. He said many of those he met had been wounded as they sought to help others amid the hail of bullets. A person listed as the witness to Danley's divorce insisted to the Reno Gazette-Journal that she is not connected with Paddock's behavior. "He done this exclusively himself".

According to Las Vegas police, Paddock installed a camera on the cart and linked it to a tablet so he could see when officers were approaching his room to try to stop the shooting.

"It seemed like he just looked after my aunty and that was it", he said.

It was also said that Paddock may have had some kind of assistance.
