Tim Krul delighted with permanent Brighton deal

The Dutch global will now be eligible to face off against his former club when the two sides clash in the Premier League this weekend.

Brighton and Hove Albion must recover quickly from disappointing results if they are going to be successful in the Premier League this season, manager Chris Hughton said on Thursday.

He went on to make a total of 185 appearances for the club.

He however fell down the pecking order at the club and spent last season on loan with Ajax and AZ in his native Holland.

Following Krul's departure, a statement on the club's website read (via Goal): "Everyone at Newcastle United would like to thank Tim for his long service to the club, and wish him and his family well for the future".

He has also made eight appearances for the Netherlands, featuring in the national team's third place finish at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Mat Ryan, current first choice to wear the gloves in Brighton's Premier League matches who joined the Seagulls from Valencia in the summer, will no doubt face competition for the number 1 spot this season.

Brighton faced Bournemouth on Tuesday night, five days ahead of the Premier League game against Newcastle.

"Recruitment is not just about one window, Newcastle recruited really well last season and some of the players doing particularly well for them at the moment are ones that were bought last season", said Hughton.

Tim Krul is delighted to have signed permanently with Brighton.
