Thomas Lemar speaks out over future: For the moment I'm a Monegasque

La Liga expert Balague took to Twitter to reveal that three Arsenal players went to Lemar's bedroom in the France camp to try and persuade the Monaco star to move to The Emirates.

Just hours after Arsenal missed out on highly rated midfielder Thomas Lemar, the 21-year-old scored a cracking effort for France against Holland in a World Cup Qualifier.

Arsenal and AS Monaco have reached an agreement for Thomas Lemar, according to reports in England.

'I know we live in an era of transparency but at some stage to respect everybody you have to not talk too much about that'.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring the France global to Anfield and Lemar is understood to be interested in working under the German.

He had been strongly linked with a big-money move to the English Premier League, with both Arsenal and Liverpool both credited with firm interest.

Last season, the former Caen starlet made 55 appearances in all competitions for Monaco, scoring 14 goals and picking 17 assists.

As for Arsenal, the failure to land Lemar means that Alexis Sanchez will miss out on his prefered move to Man City.

'The player chose to stay in Monaco.

"It's very hard for me to speak about that because what I want now is the player to focus on his career, on his season and Arsenal", Wenger said.

Do you think keeping Lemar was a good bit of business by the Ligue 1 club?
