Japan and South Korea Armed to The Teeth with New Weapons

Security Council diplomats, who weren't authorized to speak publicly because talks have been private, said the US and China were still negotiating the text late Sunday.

French President Emmanuel Macron is calling on the worldwide community to put more pressure on North Korea to bring the country back to the negotiating table, in response to Pyongyang's latest nuclear test.

In a statement published by the official KCNA news agency, North Korea's foreign ministry warned Washington that if it did "rig up the illegal and unlawful "resolution" on harsher sanctions, the DPRK shall make absolutely sure that the US pays due price".

North Korea vehemently objects to military exercises on or near the peninsula, and China and Russian Federation have suggested the United States and South Korea halt their exercises to lower tension.

The Mexican government on Thursday said it had declared the North Korean ambassador to Mexico persona non grata in protest at the country's nuclear tests, an unusually firm step that moved it closely into line with Washington. Last year, North Korea conducted its fifth nuclear test on the September 9 anniversary.

Beijing has called for United Nations Security Council (UNSC) member states to engage in sufficient discussion and reach a consensus on North Korea-related issues. Both countries could veto any new resolution.

North Korea's missile development program with nuclear delivery capability threatens Northeast Asia as well as the United States, he added, "but so far our policies have been ineffective in halting it and that North Korean effort is going to continue on its technological march".

Ethiopia's ambassador to the United Nations, the current Security Council president, confirmed Sunday that a Security Council vote would take place Monday.

Still he says, it's "nice" to get a 15-0 vote.

An official at the Mexican foreign ministry noted, however, that President Enrique Pena Nieto's government was not breaking diplomatic ties with North Korea.

The resolution is a watered-down version of what the USA initially proposed, removing the demand to ban all oil imports to the North and to freeze global assets of the government and leader Kim Jong Un, according to the Associated Press.

Wang Yi said China hopes North Korea would "see the situation clearly and come to the right judgement and choice".

Previous UN sanctions resolutions have been negotiated between the United States and China, and have taken weeks or months.

Trump added that if the United States has to a military action against Pyongyang, "It will be a very sad day for North Korea". It also provides hundreds of thousands of tonnes of oil and fuel to the impoverished regime. South Korea has become one of the world's busiest trading hubs for cryptocurrencies, with Seoul-based Bithumb ranking as the world's largest exchange for the ethereum virtual currency. The two countries have been at loggerheads over South Korea's decision to deploy a U.S. anti-missile system/, the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense, which has a powerful radar that can probe deep into China.
