Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne are tying the knot in Las Vegas today.
Ronda Rousey, the former UFC bantamweight champion who stepped away from the sport following a devastating loss in December, will Wednesday heavyweight fighter Travis Browne, according to UFC President Dana White.
It's safe to say that Rousey won't change all of her plans to accomodate the fight, but White seemed a bit dismayed that it had to be on the day of the biggest fight in UFC history.
The couple are exchanging vows ahead of Saturday's mega-fight in Sin City between Floyd Mayweather and his opponent Conor McGregor. Will you come to the wedding?' I said, 'Absolutely, ' " White added, but then revealed he had to decline when he discovered the date coincided with the Mayweather-McGregor fight. She has better things to do, like get married.
White noted on the show that Rousey is in a good place in her life and has not announced her retirement as an MMA fighter. "She's focusing on this wedding". She lost the 135-pound championship in November 2015, when she suffered a knockout loss to Holly Holm via head kick. She was knocked out by Amanda Nunes in just 48 seconds.
She attempted a comeback for UFC 207 in Vegas last December, but was again a shell of her former self in the octagon. She also revealed a glimpse on what they planned for the wedding saying, "We're going to do, like, a backyard Mexican, Corona (beer) party, but in Hawaii".
