Duchess Of Cambridge Gets Decked Out In Jewels At State Banquet

She'd previously worn the same tiara to her first state banquet previous year but this time, Kate paired it with a dusky Marchesa pink dress with a plunging neckline and her favourite pearl and diamond earrings. The order is an honour given to female royals by the monarch for service to the royal family.

Princess Diana wearing her signature Cambridge Lover's Knot Tiara. The royal family from Spain who flew down to London spent time with Queen Elizabeth and the royal family of Britain. While it caught the light with the beaded detailing, the sheer overlay meant very little skin was on show.

Kate donned the Cambridge Lover's Knot tiara that once belonged to her husband's mother, Princess Diana.

In addition to the majestic accessory, the Duchess wore a lacy, light pink Marchesa gown with three-quarter length sleeves.

In addition, Kate wore her classic diamond and pearl earrings, which looked elegant, but did not compete with her other jewelry. She paired the cotton and silk dress with a nude Etui clutch, a pair of £470 neutral-toned suede Gianvito Rossi pumps and the pearl drop earrings - once again borrowed from the Queen.

When the royal wife chose a stunning pink gown to wear at the gathering, she picked up Princess of Wales's bellowed tiara to complete the ensemble.

The tiara was given to Diana, by the Queen, on her marriage to Charles.

Yet, based on photos from the event, her expression remained reflective, nearly somber.

Her tiara wasn't her only statement piece, either, with Queen Elizabeth's own King George IV and Queen Elizabeth Bandeau necklace on full display, a jaw-dropping diamond and ruby collar with a diamond drop pendant as its centerpiece.

They also surmised that Kate looked reflective, perhaps thinking of Princess Diana.

What do you think of the glimpses of the Duchess of Cambridge's dress?
