Apple is giving away free headphones with MacBook, iPads

For instance, buying a Mac will score you the Solo3s, while buying an iPad Pro can get you BeatsXs.

Apple has today officially launched their 2017 Back to School promotion in the United States and Canada, offering eligible customers a free pair of Beats with qualifying iPad Pro and Mac purchases. Beats headphones also sell well on eBay or electronics for-sale groups, so you could just look at this as a $200 discount on a MacBook, if you'd like. Do you plan on purchasing a new iPad Pro? Though you won't be able to buy directly through, you can purchase through the Apple Online Store for Education.

So, which Beats are up for grabs? You can choose from the Solo3, Powerbeats3, or BeatsX earphones on the purchase of a Mac. If you're more of an earbuds person, there are two from you to pick from: the Powerbeats3 wireless earphones, which are decidedly the mid-range option here, or the BeatX earphones. You can check out Apple's back-to-school promotion web page, which has links to all the eligible Macs and iPads for the offer.

Employees of K-12 and higher education institutions qualify for the discount, as do college students who can verify their enrollment.

For the iPad promotion, Apple is taking $US20 off the regular price tag on top of the free headphones. What do you think of this deal? Head down to the comments section to share your thoughts!
