Denver Nuggets acquire Jazz's Trey Lyles in draft-night deal

Thursday night it was reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical that the Jazz were trading power forward Trey Lyles and the 24th overall pick to Denver, with the Nuggets sending the rights to 13th overall pick Donovan Mitchell.

"Mitchell, a 6'3" 20-year-old guard, said he was lost for words after the Jazz drafted him 13th on Thursday.

This story will be updated. He was visibly emotional, noting the Jazz were the first team to work him out as he navigated his post-collegiate career.

In 38 games for the national champion Tar Heels, Bradley averaged 7.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. "I just wanted to work out with the Jazz", he said. "I think that will stick out from everybody else, and then I'll let the rest of the game come along. I can learn the offensive part as I go through the league". "I like to show teams what I can do, how I can play". He also lived behind the arc with 2.4 treys per game.

Lindsey has made a draft-day trade each year since his first with the Jazz in 2013. Not many players created as much buzz as Mitchell has over the last month. Shot selection and consistency are the two biggest areas he needs to improve, Mitchell said.

Mitchell also gives the Jazz a backcourt insurance policy in case George Hill doesn't return.

Lydon led Syracuse in rebounding (8.6 per game) and ranked second in scoring (13.2 points per game) last season and brings another physical presence to the Nuggets' front court.

The No. 1 priority is to retain Hayward, who wants to win sooner rather than later. The 50 wins were the most since 2009-10.
