On the other end, accuser Constand seems to be really confident about winning the case, as a close friend of her stated that she is really prepared for the trial. Cosby's attorney, Martin Singer, has repeatedly denied the accusations against his client, at one point in 2014 decrying what he called "unsubstantiated, fantastical stories", which were becoming "increasingly ridiculous".

Cosby has said he does not plan to testify. Dozens came forward to say he had drugged and assaulted them. The settlement they forged in 2006, after Cosby gave four days of deposition testimony, ended the case and swore both sides to secrecy.

The 12-member jury, which was selected from the Pittsburgh area, includes seven men and five women, along with six alternates.

His trial is being held at the Montgomery County court house in Morristown, outside Philadelphia, and is expected to last around two weeks.

In 2005, Constand, the director of operations for the women's basketball team at Temple at the time, told police she was drugged and assaulted by Cosby, a Temple alumnus who was 37 years her senior. And, that she changed the date from mid-March to mid-January of 2004. "This is a case about a man, this man", she said, pointing to Cosby, "who used his power and his fame and his previously practiced method of placing a young trusting woman in an incapacitated state so that he could sexually pleasure himself so that she couldn't say no". "The blue things will take the edge off", according to the complaint.
