This will definitely be hard though as "The Count" was defeated by Rockhold when the two met during UFC Fight Night 55.
UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold is going to be hobbled for his bout at UFC 199 on Saturday. Bisping had a strong 18-7 record in the UFC but he had taken losses in the past that kept him from a title shot.
That's why he was so quick to contact UFC president Dana White to volunteer to take this fight last month when he heard former champ Chris Weidman was hurt and had to pull out of his title bout against champion Luke Rockhold.
Rockhold beat Bisping by second-round submission in less than two years ago and in response to "The Count" he said he "chose" to fight him, rather than dodging Jacare, in a back and forth argument. Left, right, I don't know. You are an incredible fight Luke, you really are, and I congratulate you for making me step up my game to come at you.
"He stayed tough but I'm not surprised", Cruz (22-1) said after the fight.
The fighters got into a heated argument after Rockhold refused to shake Bisping's hand after Saturday night's press conference. This is my dream and no one was taking this away from me.
"I've always been a fighter, there's nothing that I do better", Bisping said afterward.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Bisping lives and trains in Southern California with boxing coach Jason Parillo. "But thank you guys for the support, and God bless my family".
But then came the post-fight news conference and a heated exchange between the new champion and the former champion ended with Bisping calling Rockhold an anti-gay slur.
Rockhold seemed to be at a loss for words after the fight, saying he didn't expect that result. It was his first since his UFC debut in May 2013, when he suffered a first-round knockout to Vitor Belfort. Rockhold crashed to the canvas along the cage, and Bisping unloaded two more right hands that finished the fight.
"Congrats to Michael", Rockhold said. "I know this game is insane, and I know its MMA and anything can happen". I can't say anything. He's not a guy I longed to fight.
The circumstances aren't ideal, and not many people outside his camp expect him to claim Rockhold's belt.
Rockhold, on the other hand, seemed like the obvious victor in this fight. He looked to calmly walk Bisping down and make use of his size advantage.
