Port Arthur's Kam Martin chooses Auburn

They feel like I can come in there and play running back.

Auburn Football got a shot in the arm tonight as Kameron Martin, the nation's No. 7 all-purpose back in the 2016 class signed with the Tigers.

The NCAA provided him an unconditional release from his national letter of intent at Baylor and he will be available to play immediately at Auburn, but he will have to prove he's worth the time on the field during workouts this summer.

"I'll make a decision after my TCU official in the next few days", Martin told AL.com. "Nobody promised me playing time or anything but they told me I have the opportunity".

Silsbee's Patrick Hudson told the Enterprise Sunday that he had received an email from Baylor releasing him from his NLI. He is quick, which could also translate into a role on special teams.

"He said if I was going to Baylor and he was there, it would be the same type of vibe (as at Auburn)".

Several Baylor players, including Martin, formally requested their releases before May 31, less than a week after coach Art Briles was sacked following the school's sexual assault scandal.

If he ends up with Auburn, it would help them out tremendously at the running back position. 2016 four-star running back Kam Martin is one of the them and it looks like he is close to finding his new home.

In typical Gus Malzahn fashion, the Auburn coach sent out his customary "Boom" Twitter celebration after a recruit committed.

"It was wonderful", Martin said of his Auburn visit.
