Nvidia Pascal GeForce GTX 1070 set for June release; specs, price revealed

If you've been having issues with the fan on your shiny new GeForce GTX 1080 Founder's Edition - a gremlin which may have somewhat taken the shine off your freshly purchased card - then you'll be pleased to hear a fix is expected to arrive later today. The GPUs could be for a new Titan X or the GTX 1080 Ti that some are already anticipating. That's the GTX 1070 for you. However, Nvidia may break the trend with the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070, which may launch on laptops with unchanged form. Nvidia continues to be one of the leaders in technology and the introduction of these two pieces of graphics cards show that they are ready for even more advancement.

As part of the event Nvidia held back on May 6, the company revealed that the Pascal GP104 will help increase the productivity and strengthen the already impressive performance of Nvidia GeForce GTX. "They will be the same chips used on the desktops, just operating at a lower TDP-we're told there will be the same number of shader units, etc.", says the PC Gamer report. It's also a win-win situation since gamers will be able to enjoy a more powerful gaming experience through the use of laptops. It is a significant improvement from the older generation of GTX 970, its predecessor, while also making sure it has improvements over the GTX 980. PC gamers not interested in 4K will have to be contented with the GTX 1070 and the GTX 1080 for several months before the new cards will be unveiled by the company. Nvidia may tweak the voltages and core clocks to bring down the power for laptop versions.

As detailed earlier, Nvidia SLI HB bridge will only work on Geforce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 graphics cards, and EVGA's custom SLI HB bridges will be available in three different versions, 1U, 2U, and 3U, depending on the gap between motherboard PCIe slots.
