Germany Coach Joachim Low Apologises for Scratch and Sniff Incident

Fast forward 2 years later, it is a case of déjà vu after the Germany coach is seen scratching his balls and then smelling his fingers during their Euro 2016 opening game against Ukraine.

But it was Low's antics on the touchline that dominated the post-match reaction, with the 56-year-old widely ridiculed on social media after twice being caught putting his hands down his pants.

Low put his hand down the front of his trousers and then took a sniff while on the touchline during Germany's first match against Ukraine. You're full of adrenaline, concentrated and things that happen now and then, you don't perceive them consciously. "I'm sorry for it". He also did the same at the back, with his actions triggering a variety of reactions and the clip going viral on social media.

This is not the first time Löw has been caught on camera in a compromising position.

They will conclude their Group C campaign with a match against Northern Ireland, again in Paris, on Tuesday at the Parc des Princes.
