When ABC announced that "Agent Carter" will not be renewed for a third season, fans who followed the series expressed backlash over the decision, and this time, actress Hayley Atwell had to speak her mind on the issue.
Regardless of which, fans should not lose hope just yet as Atwell, this time in her conversation with Entertainment Weekly, is "100 percent" willing to play the part for a revival project. And with Sharon Carter finally revealing her true identity in Captain America: Civil War, Agent Carter could actually BE so much more than Peggy.
Meanwhile, viewers who loved the beautiful and sharp agent came up with a suggestion that most outlets believe is the best solution for the show to return.
Let's say Netflix was interested - would Atwell even be able to fit another season into her busy shooting schedule, which already includes Conviction? The showrunners were talking about a possible kind of twist, I suppose, into something to do with the family.
But "Agent Carter" doesn't need ABC.
But what if our favorite British SHIELD agent magically showed up for another season?
"There was talk of season 3, which would have delved into her past a little bit more", Atwell divulged.
After being on air for only two seasons, ABC chose to pull the plug on the series because of its less-than-stellar ratings. Both seasons aired during the mid-season break of the other Marvel and ABC series, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D". Would you like to see Agent Carter make a triumphant return to the small-screen?
Speaking at MCM London Comic Con, the 37-year-old actor noted that he'd be "well up for doing more Howard Stark" as long as there's "more story to tell", reported Digital Spy. Fans held that Peggy Carter is one of the strongest female characters and her story deserved to continue.
